Background & Problem Space

Grassroots and corporate sports tournaments struggle with paper scorecards, inaccurate statistics, and disorganized player auctions. TotalSports digitizes the full lifecycle of sports tournaments — from team registration and auction bidding wars to professional ball-by-ball live match streaming.

Core Bottlenecks

Cricket matches have intricate scoring edge cases (wides, no-balls, leg byes, super overs, DLS rain adjustments). Scoring apps must never drop a ball event even if network connectivity lapses during remote turf matches. Furthermore, player auction rooms require low-latency bidding screens seen by all teams simultaneously.

Architectural Approach

We built TotalSports with an offline-first match scoring engine. Ball events commit to local device storage before broadcasting across Supabase channels. We also created a live auction module that syncs remaining team purses, bids, and unsold player rosters in real time on big-screen displays.

Offline-capable React Native mobile applications paired with a Supabase realtime event bus and web dashboards for auction control and spectator viewing.
