Daybook is a personal expense tracker by Codescap Software Solutions. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, write to us. A real person reads it.

Common questions
Do I need an account to use Daybook?
No. Every feature works without one, and your ledger stays on your phone. Signing in is only for keeping a cloud copy and using the same data on another device.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open More, then Profile, then Delete my account. Your account and everything synced to it are removed immediately, and the copy on your phone is erased at the same time. If you would rather we did it, email us from the address you signed up with.
Can Daybook read my bank messages?
On Android it can, if you allow it, and the reading happens entirely on your phone. No message is ever uploaded.
On iPhone, Apple does not permit any app to read the message inbox. Paste a message into Daybook instead and it will pull out the amount, the bank, the payee and a category.
I signed in but nothing is syncing.
Daybook syncs once a day by design, to be gentle on battery and data. To sync immediately, open More, then Cloud sync, then Sync now.
The sign-in email has not arrived.
Check the spam folder first. If it still has not arrived after a few minutes, try again, or use Sign in with Apple or Google instead, which need no email at all.
How do I get my data out?
More, then Backup. You can export your transactions as a spreadsheet, or take a full backup file that Daybook can restore later. Both are yours to keep.
Is my data sold or used for advertising?
No. Daybook contains no advertising and no tracking, and nothing about your money is sold or shared. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored and where.
Reporting a problem
It helps enormously if you tell us your device, the app version from the bottom of the More tab, and what you were doing when it went wrong. If a bank message was parsed incorrectly, paste the message with the amounts changed and we will teach the parser.
